Samantha is originally from Rochester, NY a location known for receiving lake effect snow. Plenty of snow is one of the reasons Samantha’s passion for meteorology developed. During the summer of 1992, the year of one of Florida’s most devastating hurricanes, Hurricane Andrew, Samantha was there and part of the evacuation process. She saw first hand the damage and devastation left behind by this powerful storm. That experience only heightened her interest in meteorology.

Prior to joining NBC Weather Plus, Samantha was the morning Meteorologist at WSIL-TV, in the Cape Girardeau-Paducah-Harrisburg Market. She served as the Chief Meteorologist at WKAG-TV in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, after graduating from the State University of New York College at Oneonta with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology in May 2004. Samantha earned her AMS-CBM Seal in March 2007, and is also a member of the National Weather Association.

The perfect day: Sunny and 80 degrees so I can sit by a pool and read.
